Choose an illustrative daily allowance
Keep Bali prices in Indonesian rupiah (IDR / Rp). As a starting scenario per person, allow IDR 500,000–1,000,000 per day for a modest trip or IDR 1,500,000–3,000,000 for a more comfortable trip. These are editorial allowances, not surveyed prices. They exclude international flights, entry costs and insurance. A solo private room can cost more per person than a shared room.
A ten-day arithmetic example
If you choose an allowance of IDR 800,000 per person per day, ten days equals IDR 8,000,000 before the excluded costs. Two people would budget IDR 16,000,000 under that assumption. This is a calculation, not a quote for a bookable holiday.
Replace the allowance with real quotes
- Accommodation: count actual nights; check taxes, occupancy, meals and cancellation terms.
- Transport: compare the complete cost of airport transfers and day trips, including waiting and parking.
- Food: decide which meals are included in the room price, and price the rest from current menus.
- Activities: list surf lessons, diving, guided walks and cultural visits separately. Check equipment and transfer inclusions.
Include entry-related charges separately
Eligible travellers using a visa on arrival should check the IDR 500,000 immigration fee. The Bali foreign-tourist levy is a separate IDR 150,000, with exemptions to check. Use the official visa portal and Bali levy service.
Avoid misleading conversions
The earlier page used inconsistent IDR/USD conversions. Those conversions have been removed. If you need another currency, record the date and exchange rate and allow for fees. Compare prices in the currency you will actually pay.

How to use these budget figures
These amounts are editorial allowances rather than a survey of current prices. Confirm the currency and whether the charge is per person, room, vehicle or group. Replace accommodation and activity figures with quotes for your dates. Flights, insurance and entry costs must be budgeted separately unless explicitly included.
